
Very Important Pinoy Tour launched on January 21, 2020 at the Philippine Center in NYC
New York City – The Philippine Consulate General in New York and the Philippine Department of Tourism – New York hosted the launching of the 2020 Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tour, formerly Ambassadors’ Tour, on 21 January 2020 at the Kalayaan Hall, Philippine Center New York.
The VIP Tour is an annual event organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Department of Tourism’s Tourism Promotions Board and Rajah
Tours. This year’s tour will feature historical places and mouth-watering cuisine in Manila, Iloilo and Boracay from 19 to 26 July 2020.
Prior to the launching event, Post, PDOT-NY, PAL, Rajah Tours and local travel agencies held a meeting at the Kalayaan Hall Annex to discuss the technical aspects of the tour package before they proceeded to attend the event at the Kalayaan Hall.
Consul General Claro S. Cristobal welcomed the more than 70 guests from the Fil-Am community, media, and representatives of local travel agencies. He shared his experience as part of the 2019 VIP Tour in Manila, Clark, Bataan, and Palawan.

Philippine Tourism Attaché to New York Francisco Lardizabal discussed PDOT-NY’s tourism priorities and goals for this year. He also presented audio-visual presentations featuring this year’s tourism destinations.
Consul Arman Talbo, Post’s Economic Officer, gave an overview of the 2020 VIP Tour itinerary and tour package rates. Dr. Laura Garcia, President of the National Federation of Filipino American Association (NaFFAA) – New York, shared with the audience her amazing experiences during the past VIP Tours she attended.
