“In these uncertain times, NaFFAA-NY will fortify its mission to promote the welfare and well being of Filipino Americans, and will continue to partner with diverse groups and community organizations in advocating for issues of common concern,” said Laura Garcia, NaFFAA-NY Chair. “Health disparities, fragile economy, and human rights are issues of common concerns especially during these unprecedented and challenging times of COVID-19. We must unite to weaken the virulence of this disease by continuing to observe social distancing, proper hand washing and use of protective facial covering. We must take precautions when businesses reopen to prevent resurgence of the disease. As people of faith and moral courage, we must amplify our voices to help our communities fight against discrimination.”
“We are fighting an enemy that we cannot see. We must find the solution, not the blame. We each have unique roles to play and if we work together as a team, we can fight this disease. And we will win! That is what the future looks like.”
