
Learn to write your own story and be in the movie. How about that?
The 6th International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM) is holding a screen writing seminar with multi-awarded scriptwriter Ricky Lee as key lecturer in a workshop called ‘Writing Your Story’ on October 17-19, 2016.
In time for the IFFM this fall, Lee will share his 50 years of experience in screen play to interested writers. Among his great accomplishments is the CNN Asian Viewers’ Choice Award for his film “Himala” which starred Nora Aunor. He also wrote for such stellar and historical movies Jose Rizal (Cesar Montano, 1998), Karnal (Charito Solis, 1983) and Andrea, Paano ba ang Maging Isang Ina (Nora Aunor, 2000).
Lee will grace the 6th IFFM as special guest which will be at the Philippine Consulate on 5th Avenue on October 20, 2016. Since he began his career in 1973, Lee has earned respect as novelist, journalist, playwright and mentor of notable writers and directors of Philippine Cinema.
IFFM chair and executive director Luis Pedron said that this three-day workshop is a once-in-a-lifetime experience with Mr. Lee who is a gem in Philippine cinema and literature.
