New York – Filipinos in North America simultaneously held rallies calling out on China’s incursion of the West Philippine sea. Pocket rallies in Chinese embassies and consulates called for “China Out Now,” on July 12, 2019 which marked the third anniversary of the Philippine victory at The Hague Tribunal that upheld its territorial claim to the West Philippine Sea.
In New York, Atty. Lara Gregory, lawyer and community activist, said that “it’s empowering to see Filipinos, Filipino-Americans and even people of other nationalities take a stand to defend the sovereignty of the Philippines against those perceived as bullies or aggressors.”
Aside from NYC, the cities of Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago coordinated the rallies with all Philippine political groups and their international allies demanding China to respect the Philippines’ Exclusive Economic Zone. (Featured photo by Atty. Lara Gregory)
