A brand new Filipino TV show in The Filipino Channel. The “barrier-breaking” Filipino-American reality magazine television show is set to air on TFC on June 11, 2016 at 12:30PM EST
New York City – North American Filipinos have always been longing for a television show that will make them drop whatever they’re doing – making their eyes glued in the TV sets until it’s done. East coast “Pinoys” are somewhat forgotten as the concentration of TFC TV content are from the West Coast where most of the early Filipino-Americans migrated.
Recently, the population of Filipinos in the east coast have exponentially risen and we feel that it is the perfect time to launch this project. The wait is over for these Filipino-Americans as the newest TFC TV show premiers on June 11, 2016 at 12:30PM EST – “iAmFiLAm” is a reality-magazine format TV show produced by IQ Creative Media.
This TV Show is hosted by three fresh new faces from the east coast, spearheaded by Jessy Daing (also one of the Executive Producers), the brainchild of this project – fiercely business-minded, she currently works in one of the branches of the government as an Assistant Project Manager, she also has an online store (Jessy Couture on Facebook) selling authentic luxury handbags.
Maita Lockhart – a Fil-Arab-American who grew up in Pasay City, moved to the States in 1995, then to London to study in 2007, went to The Philippines in 2011, and came back to New York City in 2014 to work for one of the most largest accounting firms in the world as a tax manager.
Lastly, Alain Echem – a former member of the band “Frio” which was known with their hit single “Alive”, then decided to go solo and released the hit song “Maghihintay Ako”. He currently resides in Queens and works as a banker in one of the best banks in the world. “It is important for North American Filipinos to realize that the East Coast Filipino community is as strong as the West Coast, the East (specifically New York) can be rough and tough but it is where dreams are made of and dreams can be conquered if you fight for it.
Filipinos have that fighting-spirit and the potential to grow and be successful anywhere in the world – as long as they keep their focus and motivation. One of the main reasons of this show is to keep them motivated and positive throughout their journey. This is bigger than all of us as we represent not only the East Coast but the entire North American Filipino community” according to the head writer of the show – Angelito “JV” Valino Jr. The Director ACN said: “It only started with a phone call and a crazy idea, Jessy and I were talking a couple of months ago and we started to dream that we can start a Filipino television show in the East Coast.
Marcos Sicat and Gerda Pelayo-Sicat helped their dream become reality. They helped Jessy fund the project and the three of them started a new production company called IQ Creative Media. Jessy said, “They believed in us and in our project. They knew the idea was crazy but still laid down all of their cards to help us. It was really heartwarming and I in behalf of everyone from our team, appreciate all their efforts and help throughout this project. They were the sail on our boat that kept us from crashing and helped us reach our intended destination.”
IQ Creative Media also offers television commercial creations, cinematic wedding videography, television show concepts, multi-media marketing and so much more. There’s also an online-show affiliated with “iAmFiLAm”, which will be a regular show right after each episode starting after episode 2 of the TV program. The online-show will be hosted by Jesse “JCas” Castro (writer and graphic artist) and Angel Ram (singer). It will focus on the latest episode that aired and some subjects that the TV program might have missed during that week.
This can be watched at their website at www.iqcreativemedia.com and their Facebook page: iAmFiLAm. This show is for the Filipino people in North America, different generations of Filipino-Americans who live in North America, and anyone who relates to the Filipino heart. It is beyond race, color, language, culture, and empowering humanity. (A Press Release from Angel Ram)
