
New York City – Fashion Institute of Technology graduate Loria Song was crowned Miss Tourism New York USA at the 3rd annual competition and charity show held on August 5, 2017 at the historic SoHo Playhouse Theater. She represented West Village and will represent the Empire State at the National Finals to be held here this fall.
Loria will compete for multiple opportunities to travel internationally including touring Malaysia for Miss Tourism International, Cambodia for Miss Tourism Metropolitan, and Greece for Miss Tourism Planet.
“I believe my passion for traveling, experience traveling and living overseas as well as my multi-cultural upbringing would make me an ideal candidate for a possible opportunity to represent Miss Tourism New York USA,” expressed the newly crowned Loria Song. Loria also received honors for placing highest in the Interview, Modeling, and Evening Gown rounds of competition. Among the sponsor prizes and gifts, Miss Tourism New York USA 2017/18 will be receiving a $1,000 appearance contract with the Miss Tourism USA Organization, Leadership Training sponsored by One Girl New York, and a scholarship to a semester of classes with the New York Performing Arts Academy.
First Runner Up Micah Yu also captured the Heart of Charity Award, was the recipient of the Monarch Beauty Award and will receive $500 in beauty services sponsored by Dr. Alice Almendral of Monarch Medical Aesthetics. Micah Yu appointed by the Miss Tourism USA Organization to the title Miss Tourism New Jersey USA.
Honorable mentions include: Miss Tourism New York City Sonali Chandra for Best Talent selected by celebrity guest talent judges renowned musicians Scott Tixier and Vinny Raniolo; Miss Tourism Bronx Yolanda Pinckney for contestant and staff choice named Miss Personality; Miss Tourism Queens Suprova Ferdousi for director’s choice selected for Pageantry Spirit.
The two new state representatives for New York and New Jersey will vie for the national title of Miss Tourism USA later this fall in New York City for various international travel opportunities offered through the Miss Tourism USA Organization.
