New York – The month-long celebration of the 123rd Independence Day celebration of the Philippines as the first republic in Asia kicked off with a Filipiniana collection exhibit by Filipino couturiers on June 4, 2021 at the Philippine Center on 5th Avenue.
‘The Rebirth of Filipino Terno and Barong’ is curated by Erno John Hormillosa who said that he wanted the younger generation of FilAms “to appreciate our Filipiniana through this exhibit.”
The exhibit of exquisite ensemble of Barong and Terno, owned by Filipino community members in the East coast, will run until June 30, 2021. It features the Minauderie Collection by Ia’s Threads, known for its style and eco-friendliness. #
