Truly one of America’s favorite holidays, Halloween is of Celtic origin. Set at the time that transitions autumn and winter, ancient folk wear scary clothes to ward off the dead from (symbolic of winter’s famine, death, and desolation) coming back to Earth.
Manhattan – Spooky cute creatures walk and run about on west 69 Street on this evening before Halloween 2015. The mood is festive and delightful here, as small and big children and adults too show off their elaborately scary attires. Some said theirs were especially made, others just bought them from the store.
Thanks to the dynamism of the west 69th street neighborhood, this spot is a popular place for treat and tricking.

These days, the tradition has evolved into sheer fun with much scarier costumes. I enjoyed creature watching.
