
New York – On February 22, 2021, the group Cebuanos Engaging in Building Unity Inc, in partnership with Midwest Foodbank PA, Feed New York and the Church of the Ascension – Queens, officially launched “Gasa sa Gugma”, a project aimed at providing food items to most in need.
To mark the launching of this outreach, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held led by Edynne Baclay-Loquellano, Cebu Inc.. President, Father Kyrian Echekwu from Church of the Ascension, and Juliet Payabyab, Astoria Community Board Member and PACEC President. The event was also attended by special guests Boyet Loverita and Lindy Rosales of GMA7. Some 100 families (450 individuals) received a bag-full of grocery items.

This montly initiative will help stop hunger to those most in need, specifically those most affected by the current pandemic. CEBU Inc. would like to acknowledge Jason and Aleta Serrano of Midwest Foodbank PA for the generosity and support. Kudos and thanks also go to all organizational officers and members of CEBU Inc. who made the event a success.
