Actress Lorli Villanueva Launches Two Books on Friday, Oct. 27

New York City – Multi-awarded actress, director, singer, teacher LORLI VILLANUEVA will launch her two books,  Dancing with the Dictator and Realms of the Unknown, on Friday, October 27, starting off with a press conference at 5:30-6:30; and a cocktail party and signing until 8:30PM at the Philippine Center. Stage and film actor Brock Harris will be the night’s host.

Dancing with the Dictator is Lorli’s memoir of her dazzling days as an actress and an unknown kidnapping incident by Malacanang during Martial Law. Realms of the Unknown are narratives of her paranormal experiences. Both books are treasures in Philippine culture and political history.

The event is co-sponsored by the Youth Success Global Foundation, Sitting Cat Productions, Ugly Kitchen, and OSM! online magazine www.justcliqit.com

About the Books

Dancing with the Dictator, in Lorli’s words:

People ask why I have decided to write this book or revealed the story of this part of my life only now.  It is not because of fear, lack of words, or any other reason. My experience with President Ferdinand Marcos is as colorful as my life has been….full of perplexity and complexity.  Writing about my experience with Marcos today is giving closure to a secret I feel should be shared with the world. We need to move on in order to sustain life.  Each experience we go through should be seen as building blocks to make our journey in life richer and fuller. In the end, I found a very human person in a dictator and have accepted the fact that we live in the complex world of contradictions.

Living and Experiencing the Realms of the Unknown, in Lorli’s words:

We live in a world of discoveries.  There are skeptics and there are believers.  We have to admit there is a world much of which we cannot explain but possibly experience.  I do not want to prove or probe into the realms of the unknown. I only want to tell my personal stories for I believe God did not create us alone but everything beyond and around us. And we yet have to understand it or accept it.
