New York City — Milestones of life and leadership were celebrated with a bang and lots of love from family and friends in the Big Apple. Ernie and Gay will remember this milestone forever.
On March 12, president Ernesto Pamolarco Jr. celebrated his 50th birthday at the Payag Restaurant in Queens which also was the 10th anniversary of his youth foundation, the Youth Success Global Foundation.
Consul General to New York Mario Lopez de Leon Jr. sent his felicitations through Consul Kerwin Tate that night. Singer-actress Kirby Asunto and music director Michael Dadap entertained guests. Nica and Barbie Garana sang the national anthems and there was feverish dancing all through the night. The GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and the GMA TV International, through Grace Labaguis, co-sponsored the event for Ernie and the YSGF.
The TSGF provides scholarships to school children in the Philippines.
On February 14, 2016, there was roaring laughter at the birthday party of Gay Blanca Albao, president of the Cebuanos Engaging in Building Unity Inc. (CEBU) at the Astoria World Manor. Gay turned 50 this year, tearfully and happily, with the outpouring of outrageous and loving messages from friends and her sons.
She promised to her group to continue its mission of providing education assistance to young children in Cebu as well as promoting Visayan culture in the US. Last year in June, CEBU won in the dance category of the Philippine Independence Day Parade. (Photos by Luzette Pasana and Pancho Bernaldez)
