New York City – People poured into 4West 43rd Street despite intermittent winter rain on the evening of February 10, 2018 as New York City traditionally unravels its winter fashion week. For civic leader Tess dela Cruz, the Manhattan Fashion Week was a great showcase of Filipino designers which has put the Philippines in the world map. She said she was all out for Albert Andrada’s delicate craftsmanship.
The exquisite, fun, and elegant collection of Albert Andrada, Oz Go, Sidney Pineda, and Bessie Besana wowed a crowd of a jump-packed grand ballroom at 8 o’clock in the evening.
Produced by Velzon Velez and managed by overall event manager Ria Serrano, the fashion show could not have been more glitzy with 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, who with Marlon Stockinger, enjoyed herself as a spectator.
Philippine Star fashion and beauty reporter Felix Manuel was keen in his observations: “I have seen how the team worked hard to make the show fabulous despite glitches: voice over or host was terrible, no crowd control when people mobbed Pia, and bad lighting in some areas. I congratulate Velzon and the designers for showcasing the talent of the Filipino designers here in NY. People have to watch out for the September show.” (Featured photo is Bb.
