New Yorlk City – Homegrown singer Kirby Asunto bagged the Best Music Video award in the 6th International Film Festival Manhattan 2016 (IFFM) for her song Exist which was written by Jude Gitamondoc and Therese Marie Villarante and arranged by Anjelo Calinawan.
The music video was directed by Kurt D. Fick and shot in Cebu City, Philippines.
The petite Asunto is a popular singer in the Filipino American communities in the East Coast. She sang the Philippine National Anthem during the 2012 boxing bout of world champ Manny Pacquiao and American challenger Timothy Bradley. She is also best remembered in her role as Basilio in the national classic Noli Me Tangere the Opera in New York which was based on the novel of Dr. Jose Rizal.
Asunto thanked the production crew of The Fat Boys Productions in her acceptance speech on the awards night at the Philippine Consulate on October 20, 2016. “This is my very first single and I never expected to win this award. This makes me strive for more – more songs and more dreams of becoming a bigger star,” she said.

At the IFFM awards night, Asunto congratulated winning filmmakers and asked them to strive for more despite criticisms or put downs. I really had fun collaborating with The Fat Boys Production. We should have fun with what we are doing,” she said.
