Despite her busy schedule, Consul General Tess Dizon de Vega had been so considerate to squeeze into her wrap-up goodbye meetings a time for the Fil-Am Press Club of NY. For sure, the media community will miss her as she officially ends her stint in New York this month.
Members of the press club had a vibrant merienda siena (coffee and ensaymada as journalists’ staples) with her at her reception office on March 6, 2018 as a warm send-off.
De Vega, a totally hands-on administrator and diplomat, will assume a higher post at the DFA in Manila. She said she will definitely miss the energy of New York and the Filipino community here. As for a hopeful tomorrow, she wished that she’d she us in the Philippines when we come and visit.
Yes we all said, and how about in Brussels too (the new posting of Amb. Eddie de Vega, ConGen’s better half). Or so we laughed.
Could not thank you enough, ConGen Tess. You are truly inspiring in keeping the community intact, growing, and active.
