Arlene Chua Photographs Bella Barcelona

Editor’s Note: Photojournalist Arlene Chua treats us to the beautiful old city of Barcelona in Spain which she recently visited. The featured photo is the magnificent Sagrada Family church.
What I love in Barcelona is its blending of Gothic and modern architecture. While it is famous for the Sagrada Family (holy family) church designed by Antoni Gaudi , it has many modernist landmarks that can overwhelm any photographer like me. This cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region also has the modern art in Museu Picasso de Barcelona and Fundació Joan Miró,  a fully white Mediterranean building on the mountain of Montjuic. Avinguda dela Reina Maria Cristina, (named after Maria Cristina, Queen of Spain) a wide avenue that leads to the Magic Fountain and Plaza de Espana. The two Venetian Towers are a major landmark of Barcelona.
