New York City – The Philippines’ finest works of art took center stage on the night of June 8, 2017 for the month-long celebration of 119th Philippine Independence anniversary at the Philippine Consulate on 5th Avenue. The “Maestrong Pilipino” national day exhibit featured the paintings of Philippine national artists and renowned Filipino painters which adorn the walls of the Philippine Center since it opened on June 19, 1974.
International fashion designer John Ablaza added glitz into the evening with his miniature Filipiniana gowns, otherwise known as museum pieces. Singer Kirby Asunto entertained guests with Visayan love songs which international musician Michael Dadap accompanied with his guitar.
